Environmental sustainability

The Bornito de Sousa Foundation intends to work in partnership with public and private entities, to develop environmental awareness and education projects among communities, taking into account customary and cultural practices proven to be harmful to natural ecosystems and that constitute real threats to the fauna and flora of Angola, as well as the protection of wetlands and the progression of desertification.

ANGOLA MIOMBO INITIATIVE

The “Miombo” covers more than half of the entire Angolan territory and is the main (and most endangered) Biome in the country. MIOMBO supports the “WATER TOWER OF THE ANGOLAN HIGHLANDS (Water Tower)”, vital for the most important hydrographic basins in several countries in the region; In Angola, MIOMBO, through the Kwanza River basin, is responsible for almost all of the country's CLEAN ENERGY GENERATION and its contribution to a clean energy matrix on the planet, in addition to ensuring the drinking water supply of its capital, with more than 8 million inhabitants;
